Moroccan Geometry Online Exhibition (FREE)

Since April, we've been hosting interactive online sessions to learn the art of sacred Moroccan geometric patterns with VAWAA Artist and Moroccan multidisciplinary craftsman Hamza

Over the last five weeks, 19 participants from around the world met every Sunday for a 2 hour live session honing their skills as part of the 5-session advanced series. They learned about different Moroccan geometric patterns found in Fes’s historic Mosques, Madrasas, Zawiyas, and royal palaces; all from the 9th century to late 19th century.

On Sunday, September 13, at 12PM EST, we're inviting you for a special showcase featuring original tessellation patterns (50cm-1m) created by these participants for the exhibition. This will be an exciting moment as we've invited special guest, Hamza's father and original master, Mokhtar El Fasiki. He is the Head of the Brass-Smith guild of Fes and has been practicing this art for 60 years in Morocco. It will be a treat to hear his words and see him pick a winner! If that wasn't enough, there will be a live Oud performance by Hamza (a rare multi-talent) as well as an opportunity to purchase any of the participants special artwork.

Invite your family and friends! And if you've been considering joining a session on Moroccan Geometry, don't even think of missing it :)

Joining us from a different time zone? Be sure to convert the time.
