Alessia was my teacher. She was at my side the entire 18 hours of instruction, so I could ask anything about the project on the loom as well as general questions I had. She is an extraordinary resource! I won't catalog here all the specifics I learned, but suffice it to say, that I walked away feeling far more confident about creating my own patterns going forward. She really made me see that I had a fair amount of knowledge already and that usually I wasn't so far off the mark. At the same time, she greatly encouraged me to try new patterns and techniques. It's hard to convey her deep openness and excitement about weaving, color, and art in general. Getting to ask her questions for three days was exceptionally valuable--questions about my weaving project, but many more about her practice and he story of Perugian textiles.
