The primary thing I wanted to achieve was a jumpstart to my creative process, getting me out of the funk that I've been in, that has stalled my creative practice. Something to get me going again, with a bit more structure than I've been providing to myself, but with the freedom to really "play" and experiment with new techniques and materials with no pressure. And that's exactly what I got through my VAWAA experience.
Somehow, there was a freedom in working in someone else's studio for a change. Different lighting, different resources, different inspirational materials all seemed to make a difference in my creative energy, but more importantly, curiosity. And when paired with Tessa's formal training and professional experience, she helped me to reignite what first got me so passionately interested in art in the first place.
