I went on a VAWAA to Gee's Bend to experience the people and tradition of a "landmark" in the U.S. history of quilt making.

The result is a one-of-a-kind quilt top created with two wonderful people from the Gee's Bend community. I have a more complete understanding the Gee's Bend and the foundation layer in the art community. Yes, this experience was helpful.
