Elizabeth (Ellie)

I recently retired after 30 yrs of public school teaching and I wanted to reconnect with my inner artist doing something entirely new outside of the USA…to get new ideas and perspectives. (I have traveled extensively already.)

This was exactly the best decision for my new “retired life”. I feel highly motivated to begin a new type of art, seriously. As Merlyn described, the art flowed from my fingertips without me thinking too much. That’s so special, a gift! It felt great! And the physicality of cutting and shaving wood is very satisfying. I did my first higher education degree in studio art, so I also felt Merlyn helped me find “that person” again. She also exposed me to a cool community of artists as well. (I’m making a Youtube film that I will share along with pictures.)
