Every morning Jacobo and Maria were prepared for my visit. They had all the tools we needed so we could focus on the tasks. We worked at dying yarns and preparing the loom for 2 days. Then we had three days to focus on weaving. I learned the names of local plants used for dyes and how to prepare them. Jacobo and Maria helped me navigate through choosing colors and designs to weave.

I felt like a new color that they gracefully wove into their home.  This was so much more than a dying and weaving workshop. It was a full experience that I will always treasure. When I return home I will have my rug to remind me of the experience and this caring family.
