In my case, I journeyed to Barcelona wanted to learn about new approaches in printmaking and leave with some new work under the guidance of a master printmaker, and to do so by immersion in a new culture. I also wanted to travel alone, but with a purpose. I did not ant to do touristy things, rather I sketched and photographed and wrote in my journal as I wandered, got lost, found my way and discovered so much about Catalonia, and myself.

Roser taught me how to use materials at hand to create prints. Thin plastic sheets, cardboard, gorgeous but economical paper and her well-loved printing press. Through her profound expertise and compassionate support, I created a series of works that has transformed my practice. I have since been invited to exhibit this work, and have been inspired to utilize her techniques to further develop my vision through printmaking.
