stretching myself; I came to Lille open to create space for inspiration to unfold. wanten to explore how short-form poetry could connect with my existing artistic practice, while allowing each form to retain its own character. looking for a meaningful exchange, new creative possibilities, and a way to give more shape to an art project that is still evolving. Above all, allowing myself to slow down, listen more closely, and discover what might emerge when different forms of expression meet.
During this mini-apprenticeship with Sandra in Lille, I discovered how many possibilities can emerge when different art forms meet. Not only in making small poetic works, but also in bringing them together and exploring ways of presenting them.
I experienced the space for imagination and encounter, as two essential carriers of the process — their importance should not be underestimated. Working with words, images, paper, colour, and other physical materials opened up new ways of thinking, making, and bringing the different parts of my practice together. Through this I became even more attentive to how an image can hold its own atmosphere, tension, presence, or psychological charge. How something seemingly small can open into a much larger space.
I now have a wealth of material to explore further: what form does the work need in order to carry its layers, and how can the form itself make the work stronger?
I am grateful for this genuine encounter and for the many questions, possibilities, and new directions it has opened up in my practice.
