Fantastic Beings: Drawing Odd Creatures Inspired by Nature

VAWAA artist and Spanish illustrator, printmaker Iria creates surreal works of art mixing elements like human bodies, anatomy of wild animals, nature and literature icons. Her creative world is inspired by the magic of “Wunderkammer” and writings by Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain and Jules Verne.

Join her on Saturday, July 4, at 11 AM EDT, as she guides you through the process and techniques to create odd creatures inspired by nature. All levels welcome. Limited to 20 participants.

"I don't even know where to begin. If you have the opportunity to make art with Iria, TAKE IT." - Marianne

"Iria's class connected me to exactly what I was feeling. It fixed something in me. My art also felt like it gave something back to me. Personal mythology is key to her drawings and her process helped us navigate the inner connections of our mind. Thank you again to Iria and Geetika for making this so accessible." - Jayee

"I enjoyed this creative experience guided by Iria. I was flat and lacking creativity coming into the session, but surprised self and created a piece like no other. Enjoyed Iria's energy, pace and was amused by seeing her in the backdrop of her studio." - Lisa

"Iria is a very knowledgeable teacher who can teach you in a very practical, flexible and at same time precise way. You will see the life of a talented artist and you will feel motivated to continue with your own projects." - Adriana

Sessions are ticketed to support artists, makers and our small team. If you’re experiencing financial hardship, please reach out. We may have a generous participant who has paid it forward and would ask that you pay the love forward by sharing online sessions with 3 new friends.
