Last year I did wood carving in Japan with Takashi, and it was equally wonderful. This is my new way to travel! This time, in addition to learning to quilt the Gee’s Bend way, I was really looking to learn about the history of the area. I got both in spades.

I love the community aspect of quilting and the conversations that go with making together. I definitely plan to find a quilting group in San Francisco and am also hoping to teach quilting at the VA, where I’ll be teaching art to Veterans (if they’re up for it).
