I had been looking at VAWAA offerings for a while as well as other ways of learning jewellery making. In the end I decided on a VAWAA trip as the skill level and quality of the artists and artisans who teach seemed to be high. I also liked the idea of travelling with some kind of learning and a deeper connection to a place by interacting with local people. I wanted to learn basic metal skills to be able to make my own jewellery and combine it with my ceramic work and also have time to visit a place.

I learned the skills I need to turn my ideas into unique pieces of jewellery and have a better idea of the possibilities and limitations.
