My stay with Junpei was amazing. He introduced me to Jomon pottery and made my first coil-built piece feel totally doable with his clear demos and gentle hands-on guidance. Junpei is warm, funny, and such a thoughtful artist, and I’m really grateful I got to meet him. Afternoons outside the studio were also great: talking to other artists, exhibit at the Kyoto Museum, and really good food and coffee. I left feeling inspired, grateful to have met so many lovely people, and excited about the new skills I picked up.
