I needed a creative outlet to manifest all the love, passion, and care I have for my loved ones into something physical. Words can only say so much, so I strongly believed woodworking would be something that houses all my emotions and feelings.

From the initial idea to the final piece, there's something really beautiful that caught my eye about woodworking. I wanted to explore this dream of mine during my time in Barcelona; if I never woodworked or learned from Juan Pablo, it would've been a disservice to my future self in pursuit of the kind of life I want to live.

The result was amazing because I learned much more about myself, especially for someone studying philosophy. There's a lot of beauty intertwined between design and philosophy. Woodworking acts as one of the many skills I continue to acquire, practice, and master because of how detailed the craft is. I'm very satisfied with what I've learned and how I'll be moving forward with my woodworking journey. I hope to woodwork someday in Japan, so I'll be practicing and learning my craft during my undergraduate studies back in San Diego in the meantime.

I'm very proud of myself for the work I've done with Juan Pablo.
