Since I wasn't a studio art major, and didn't apprentice to an old master, I was seeking mentorship from a professional artist who could teach me advanced skills and broaden my perspective artistically. Gail Morris provided these things and more. I chose a big stone, and stuck to a consistent pace to finish it off in 10 days. With Gail's help, I met that goal.

The result was the completion of an ambitious piece that is the biggest and most complex thing I've ever made! With Gail's expertise, and her studio's equipment, things were possible that weren't on my back porch. Moreover, Gail's influence will expand my ability to imagine & create abstract forms in future work.
